Kazel Expo · A family story

What began with Hasan Hüseyin Kazel’s Ramadan festivals is now being developed by Kemal Kazel as a festival format for Turkish communities and families across Europe.

Where it began

From Ramadan gatherings to the first Kazel Expo.

The roots lie in Hasan Hüseyin Kazel’s Ramadan festivals. Before the Kazel Expo name existed, these gatherings brought families together through culture, shared food and personal connection.

In 2018, the Multi Summer Festival took place in Gelsenkirchen and the Liman Music Festival at Europahalle in Castrop-Rauxel. The first official Kazel Expo followed there in April 2019. Kemal Kazel has carried the story forward ever since.

What Kazel Expo is today

A piece of home, in the heart of Europe.

Kazel Expo brings familiar culture, flavours, music and encounters together in European cities. Different generations share a day that feels close to home, even when home is far away.

Concerts are the emotional centre. Food, shopping and a family-friendly, alcohol-free setting turn the day into one shared festival experience for visitors of every age.

  1. 012018

    The precursor festivals

    The Multi Summer Festival in Gelsenkirchen and Liman Music Festival in Castrop-Rauxel translate the family tradition into larger event formats for the first time.

    The first official Kazel Expo

    Kazel Expo starts at Europahalle in Castrop-Rauxel in April. More German cities and the first locations in the Netherlands follow.
